Coming to Rotterdam? But with no clue what so ever? We have made an activity guide. Nothing too active, but very 'Rotterdam'.
Speak with the locals. In general, Rotterdammer’s don’t mind explaining things to foreigners. Be warned though, not everyone is like that….Rotterdam is known for housing some very grumpy people…

Spring is in the air and usually the Dutch go crazy when the first sunbeam touches their face. One of the nicest ways to enjoy these euphoric moments of Dutch joy is having a coffee or a beer on one of the packed terraces in the centre of the city.
Het Westerpaviljoen (Nieuwe Binnenweg 136) or Rotown (Nieuwe Binnenweg 17-19) are definitely recommended hang out spots for spring and summer time!

Wester Paviljoen
This
is a classic. One of the city's most beautifull 'grand café's'.
The huge terrace is very popular among businessmen, creatives,
students and the employees of next doors TV Rijnmond studios.
Nieuwe Binnenweg 136

Rotterdam harbour from Google
Maps

The city of Rotterdam was known for having the world's largest
harbour, but lost that title in 2004 to Shanghai. It is the
second city of The Netherlands after, off course, Amsterdam,
which lies ca. 80 km (50 mile) North.
The cities street scenery is characterized by the large presence
of people from North Africa, Turkey and the former colonies
Suriname, The Netherlands Antilles and Indonesia.
People tend to live well together, despite of recent tensions
between the native Dutch and Muslim population in The Netherlands.
You might find it difficult to get in touch with the heart
of Rotterdam, it's natural centre was bombed away during WW2,
forcing the city to renew itself completely. Result is a lot
of modern architecture (for the architect freaks amongst us
a must see!), but also a city that does not really has a heart
or a centre. It might be a good idea to discover this city
with a local guide. You might also find that visiting this
city in spring or summer time is more enjoyable than in winter
time, Holland is a very rainy place and especially Rotterdam
is a city that gains a lot in charm when the sun is shining.
When well prepared, Rotterdam is a place you can experience
The Netherlands and Europe's mainland like you would never
experience it any other place!

Don't get scared of this
guy. He calles himself 'The best rapper from Curacao'
and he can look pretty scary. He won't harm you, though!
In fact: he will do some
oldschool breakdancing for you and your mates for only 50
eurocent!
